Interior Design: Bespoke Kitchens

THE CENTREPIECE OF YOUR HOME

If there’s one place in the house where interior design truly shows off its full potential, it’s the kitchen. It’s the central space in the home where we need to feel completely at ease. It may seem like a secondary room, but if we stop to think about it, we’ll realise that it’s a place full of life, where we spend a great deal of time. The kitchen is where we have that morning coffee that gets us going. The kitchen is also the place for family breakfasts, where we cook our favourite dish and where, inevitably, we all end up when we have guests over.

Nowadays in interior design there are so many options that it’s almost impossible not to create a kitchen tailored to our wishes. To do this, besides the layout, design and materials, we’ll take into account those little details that will make our kitchen design more comfortable, dynamic, liveable and welcoming. Whether you’re going to renovate it or build it from scratch, there are many decisions that will shape its character.

The importance of appliances

Smart appliances have come into our lives with the aim of making it easier. The latest-generation kitchen robots practically cook for you. They’ll guide you on when to add each ingredient, walking you through the recipe to treat you to finger-licking dishes.

After fridges and washing machines, it’s now the turn of smart ovens, whose technological progress is really remarkable. Many models are designed to do practically everything on their own. As well as having a touchscreen, they can calculate cooking time based on the weight of the ingredients, decide on the most suitable cooking method, or even cook two dishes at different temperatures. Short of putting the food on the table, they can do almost anything.

And that’s because the goal of interior design is to create a kitchen tailored to your needs. That’s why domino hobs are becoming increasingly popular, as they adapt to the available space and allow you to combine different types and sizes of hob. That way, you can cook your traditional dishes on gas, leaving induction or ceramic hob for your everyday meals.

Cupboards that hide real treasures

Whether you like minimalist kitchens, more traditional styles or ones with an industrial touch, they all have one thing in common: the need for storage space. Cupboards are essential in any kitchen, and beyond their outward appearance, their interior has now become hugely important. An interior designer can give you the best ideas for making better use of the available space. At Keinzo Interiores, we design the inside of kitchen cupboards tailored to you, for example fitting them with pull-out accessories that let you keep things organised and see at a glance what ingredients you have or their expiry date.

If you’re a tidy person, you might go for cupboards that hide away small appliances, such as the juicer, toaster or coffee machine, so they never take up space on your countertop. You could also fit LED lights inside your cupboards, which will create a special atmosphere, give you ambient lighting or lighting focused on specific spots, and stop you from waking up fully if you get up for a glass of water during the night.

The most modern extractor hoods

When it comes to extractor hoods, a whole world of possibilities opens up, as there are different models in every format. At our interior design studio, the first thing we’ll ask you is whether you want, or need, an extraction or suction hood, with a motor that draws out the smoke and odours generated while cooking, or a carbon filter hood, ideal for kitchens that don’t have a smoke outlet or ducting. These hoods pass the smoke and gases through a grease filter and then through an activated carbon filter that returns clean air to the kitchen.

Another very important decision for the interior design of this space will be where to place the hood, which will shape its design and form. There are hoods built into a cabinet, which can be telescopic or pull-out; decorative wall-mounted hoods , including those with a slight tilt and a very eye-catching design; ceiling hoods, perfect if you have an island.

The countertop: the star of your kitchen

The countertop is probably the most eye-catching element in your entire kitchen. Nowadays in interior design there’s a wide range of materials to choose from, which not only carry significant aesthetic weight, but also come with other highly valued properties for such a heavily used space, such as resistance and durability.

At our interior design studio, you have stone countertops at your disposal, in materials such as granite, quartz or Silestone. Some people prefer the visual finish of wood and opt for sintered stone with a finish that mimics it, such as that from Neolith.

At Keinzo Interiores, we also have new-generation materials such as Krion, very similar to natural stone, known for its strength, or Dekton, with properties that make it resistant to abrasion, stains, scratching and changes in temperature.

What matters is that your kitchen has an interior design and a style that reflects who you are, one you feel comfortable in. And that it offers you little touches that make life easier. At Keinzo, we can offer you exactly what you’re looking for. We specialise in designing bespoke kitchens, fully personalised so that when you make yourself a coffee or cook your favourite dish surrounded by the most important people in your life, you truly feel at ease. That this, and only this, is the kitchen of your dreams.
