INTERIOR DESIGN: A “MINI” BATHROOM WITH “MAXI” FEATURES
What interior design can do for you.
In an interior renovation, it’s always assumed that small spaces are limiting and inevitably lead us to classic, and therefore boring, layout solutions. At Keinzo Interiores, every time we take on a new decoration project, we like to start the design from scratch, with no prior assumptions, and work on it as much as needed to make the most of every cm2 of the room in question. The results are always extremely positive and surprising, since no one expects 4 m2 to go such a long way. This was one of those interior design projects where space was tight and the client’s requests were numerous:
- Storage area: towels, shower gels, cosmetics, hairdryer, etc… Everything will be housed in a concealed floor-to-ceiling unit, 40 cm deep, which we’ve designed flush against the side wall.
- Vanity area with stool: good lighting is essential for applying make-up properly, which is why we chose the Brightline by Arkoslight model, which will run the full length of the mirror. The unit will also have two drawers for storing small items.
- Basin area: positioned next to the vanity unit and designed in Krion so that everything forms a single surface, creating continuity. The tap will be wall-mounted and recessed into the mirror.
- WC with concealed cistern: the In-Tank by Roca model has been chosen in case it can’t be fitted between the walls.
- Shower area with seat: The main shower wall will be clad in the brand-new, decorative Gravity Aluminium by Porcelanosa model, with the rest, along with the seat, in Krion, a heat-welded material that avoids joints and gives us that extra soft, warm touch. It will be completed with a Grohe ceiling shower head to make the shower experience even more enjoyable.
As for the design, we were after an interior design that was attractive and clean yet sophisticated, one you’d want to keep walking into again and again to enjoy the experience of the senses. I think the design challenge has already been met — the client loved it, and we can’t wait for the renovation work to begin so we can bring this project to life. That will be our next challenge: turning a sketch into a tangible, enjoyable reality. We hope you liked it and that it surprised you.
