TERRAZZO IS BACK AS AN INTERIOR DESIGN TREND
It feels surreal to those of us who saw it absolutely everywhere growing up as children. In fact, it was the most common flooring in the 80s (except for the lucky few who had parquet). Terrazzo is a mixture of small pieces of marble, cement and pigments, with red and beige being its most common colours.
This material is said to originate from Venice, where it began to be used in the mid-15th century as a way of making use of the marble offcuts left over from construction work. Well, this material is back as a trend in interior design, both in tile form and as a continuous surface.
So, what do you think? Do you believe it’s here to stay, or that it will just be a passing fad?
